Service Description

Join me for a fun afternoon of embroidering a useful felt needle case. I will guide you through the basic stitches which you can use to great effect. There will be a variety of designs to choose from including DMC cotton thread or fine wool thread. The course includes all materials and a kit for you to take home and finish off. In three hours we will get quite a lot of the stitching done, and every stitch will be demonstrated. I will offer you a choice of design prior to the course, so you can choose your favourite. There will be plenty of time to practice the stitches, and you will leave with confidence. This workshop is suitable for beginners upwards, even if you are an advanced stitcher, you will still get plenty out of this style of stitching, whether it be the fine threads that you choose or wool that is easier to learn with, both are easily achievable. The needle case is formed from seven squares of felt stitched together with blanket stitch. It can hold a five inch hoop in the back pocket, and it also has a felt strip to hold your needles safe, and a little pocket to keep threads in, they are so useful and can also be used as a cosmetics case or purse. You will be guided through every stage: - The design will be ready traced for you to get going. - I will show you how to place your the felt fabric into the hoop. - Threading the wool or thread through the needle, with a very simple method. - Basic stitch styles, which are easy to master and will be used to great effect. - Following the course, you are not alone as I will be available by email if you need any further advice, and there are stitch tutorial videos at my website.
